MOTION
KINETIC TYPOGRAPHY STUDY

PROJECT STATEMENT
Chose a monologue or dialogue from a TV show or a movie. Animated the words to the audio in a motion based typographical study.

RESEARCH
I chose Bluto's infamous speech from "Animal House." Close attention was paid to the inflection of his voice to convey emotion.

SOLUTION
The final animation in done in Adobe After Effects and is 45 seconds long. I feel it captures his comical "patriotism."

VISUAL SEMANTICS + TRANSITION

PROJECT STATEMENT
Communicate a pair of antonyms by animating the meaning of the words with the words themselves.

RESEARCH
I chose the words "comical" and "pathetic" due to the large contrast in meaning. I looked at examples of humorous and depressing personification, such as in Pixar films.

SOLUTION
The final animation in done in Adobe Flash.

LETTER + NUMERAL TRANSITIONS

PROJECT STATEMENT
Show the similarities of characters within the same font by animating a letter and number transitoning back and forth.

RESEARCH
I chose the font Myriad Pro, and chose the letter "T" and number "2." Thorough examination showed commonalities that served as the foundation for the animation.

SOLUTION
The final animation in done in Adobe Flash. There are 4 transitions that loop together.
